Inspired by the outstanding Gentlemen Rudyard Kipling and his travels in the British Indies, this livery design takes us back to a time when trunks and a spirit of adventure was the traditional equipment of many travelers, on land, at sea or in the air. Among his prolific literature, the author of The Jungle Book wrote thousands of poems, including this one, “The road to Mandalay”, written in 1890, perhaps at teatime. Like a note on the first page of a travel diary, this title opens onto a list of destinations that Kipling himself discovered while exploring the Indian Continent. So British, this taste for new territories and luxury is undoubtedly justified by a simple quest for beauty, the kind that generates intense nostalgia when it was speechless. An osmosis of the railroad epics and transatlantic cruises of yesteryear, this artist’s view is a daydream invitation, whether you’re taking the road to Mandalay or Pondichery, with or without a cigar, a book on your lap and a pen for the memories.
Inspirée par le Gentlemen extraordinaire Rudyard Kipling et ses voyages aux Indes Britanniques, cette livrée nous fait remonter dans un temps où les malles cabines et l’esprit d’aventure équipaient nombre de voyageurs, sur Terre en mer ou dans les airs. Parmi son œuvre foisonnante, l’auteur du « Livre de la jungle » a écrit des milliers de poèmes dont celui-ci, « The road to Mandalay », c’était en en 1890, peut-être à l’heure du thé. Comme une note sur la première page d’un carnet de voyage, ce titre ouvre sur une liste de destinations que Kipling a lui-même découvert en sillonnant le Continent Indien. Expressément Britannique, ce goût pour le dépaysement et le luxe se justifie sans doute par une simple quête de beauté, celle qui génère l’intense nostalgie quand elle fût grandiose. Osmose des épopées en chemins de fer et des croisières transatlantiques d’antan, cette vue d’artiste a pour but de vous faire rêver, que vous empruntiez la route de Mandalay ou celle de Pondichery, avec ou sans cigare, un livre sur vos genoux, un stylo-plume pour mémoire.
