French artist and designer Didier Wolff has unveiled his latest aircraft livery design creation. Named “Blue Jay” after the colourful and iconic bird of North America, the three-dimensional “canvas” for Wolff’s unique design was an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet. The project is the result of the collaboration with Mankiewicz. global leader in aircraft coatings and RUAG aircraft paint shop in Germany.

Didier Wolff takes design inspiration from the world around him and the Blue Jay project was no exception. Wolff’s muse this time was blue jay feather he discovered at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris. The process of painting the aircraft took ten painters two weeks to complete, with the entire project demanding 2.300 working hours. 20 painters and more than 2.4 kilometres of tape. To recreate this symmetry on the aircraft. Wolff used the dark grey fusclage of the aircraft as the basis for his design. On to this he painted 337 coloured stripes, each of which was 2.5 centimetres thick and oriented at an angle of minus 23 degrees.

AIRBUS CORPORATE JETS TwoTwenty / CONCEPT Deeply inspired by the new ACJ Two Twenty, Didier WOLFF, CEO and designer of HAPPY DESIGN STUDIO, imagined a particularly striking livery. highlighting the natural cnergy and exceptional performance of this new aircraft. This livery is created around four diagonal black powerful lines which firmly rest like a frame on the tront curve of the ACJ’s belly fairing. bom from a black shape underlining the cockpit from the front.

As for the colors, five shades of green and a light blue guide the eyes towards the drift and thus unify the general perception of the livery.

2020 “Thermidor” Paris Design Award / Prize Honorable Mention

This livery was developed in a few months during the summer of 2019. After a stay for scheduled maintenance at Dassault Falcon Service (DFS) at Le Bourget airport. the Falcon 900EX joined the Satys paint shops close to DFS.

The painting job having taken place during the summer. Didier Wolff had the idea of baptizing his livery “Thermidor™. in reference to the eleventh month of the French republican calendar. which ran from July 19 to August 17.

“International Businessman”. deputy of the French National Assembly. Mr. Olivier Dassault embodies the highest French values. Therefore, personalizing his Falcon 900 EX was calling for a prestigious exterior design. Inspired by Olivier Dassault’s ethic, the emblematic design bridges together the fame. and the man’s successes in both civil and military aviation along with the French Republican values. At the crossroads of business and military aviation. this tricolor livery named “Thermidor™. refers to the eponym month, which was the | Ith of the French Republican calendar.

2018 GOLD PRIZE WINNER

Happy Design Studio presents ‘Carboneum’ a private jet exterior design applied on a Bombardier Global 6000. Hand-painted. precise customisation graphics were used throughout. highlighting the intricate patterns found in high performance, such as carbon and honeycomb structures. Didier Wolff and the design team found that the main challenge of the Carboneum livery was to sustain the longevity of the finished look, in particular the carbon and honeycomb texture. Three full weeks, over 2.500 hours of work and a team of 30 people were necessary to complete the exterior design of the Global 6000,

A series of 150vertical stripe sets. each consisting of six stripes from 6 mm to3 cm. coat the entire body. gracefully appearing from window towindow. from white to full colour. The engines feature thesame striping and fading effect but horizontally. with absoluteprecision shaping the lines around the irregular barrel form ofthe nacelles.
